PRIMARY CLARIFIER AND JOCKEY PUMP IMPROVEMENTS

The project includes replacing Primary Clarifier No. 2’s mechanism and associated equipment at the Water Pollution Control Facility due to a major mechanism failure. Work includes replacing the main clarifier mechanism including the bridge, center column, scum trough and beach, sludge collector mechanism, connections to existing piping and existing pumps for sludge handling, removal, and replacement of the grout layer on the Clarifier floor, and the replacement of electrical conduit and wiring associated with the electrical equipment for the mechanism. Additionally, as an alternate the project includes installing a jockey pump in the effluent pump station, fittings and restraints, structurally modifying the pump/pipe gallery, providing variable frequency drive (VFD) for the new pump, connecting to the SCADA panel and PLC, associated electrical and controls equipment/wiring.
