Van Wert Fire Station – Garage Doors Bid Form

Polk County Government is accepting sealed bids from experienced & qualified contractors for

providing all labor, equipment, & materials required for the installation of (3) garage bay doors

on the Van Wert Fire Station project specified below. A contract will be awarded to the

contractor whose bid best satisfies the requirements for this request and best serves the interest

of Polk County. Sealed bids will be accepted until 10:00AM EST on Wednesday, September 16,

2026, in the Commissioners Office located at 216 Main Street in Cedartown, GA 30125.

Polk County Government reserves the right to a) reject any or all proposals or to make no award, b)

require modifications to initial proposals, or c) to make partial or multiple awards. The County

further reserves the right to excuse technical defects in a proposal and/or informalities when, in its

sole discretion, such excuse is in the best interest of the County. Lastly, the County reserves the

right to check references of contractors prior to award of contract.

Bids may be withdrawn by written request only, if the request is received prior to the deadline for

submittals. Negligence on the part of a Contractor during the preparation of a proposal establishes

no right of withdrawal or modification of a proposal after a proposal has been accepted. No

proposal may be withdrawn for a period of 90 days after the deadline for proposal submittals.

AND CLEARLY MARKED FOR VAN WERT FIRE STATION – GARAGE DOORS

Background

An approximate 4,600 square foot fire station (3 bays/living quarters) is currently being constructed

on property near Van Wert Elementary School. This will be a metal building with brick façades on all

four sides.

The contractor is expected to provide material and labor for the garage bay doors portion of the

project. The garage doors to be bid are 14 ft. x 14 ft., full view glass sectional doors. Drawings have

been attached to this document. Examples of garage bay doors from the County’s most recent

fire station project have also been attached. These are the type of doors Polk County is

requesting on the Van Wert Fire Station.

Scope of Work to Be Performed By Garage Door Contractor

• Supply ALL material for the installation of (3) garage bay doors on the station

• Specifications: 14 ft. x 14 ft. full view glass sectional doors, ½ inch, tinted, insulated, &

tempered glass

• Install the doors & single phase motors for doors

• Contractor is responsible for low voltage wiring (conduit will be on-site already)

• Maintain contact with electrical contractor to ensure a smooth install
