Summary

HEADLANDS BEACH STATE PARK

AUTOMATED ENTRANCE GATE REPAIR/REPLACEMENT

SCOPE OF WORK

The repaired/replaced automated gate and control equipment must match the previous gate, and that of the current exit gate. In light of materials and equipment becoming unavailable, or obsolete, the next version is acceptable. As such, the following must be considered.

· The material(s), look, and functionality of the gate panels must match the former gate, and the current exit gate.

o This includes the color and sheen of the finish

· The hinges should be as similar to the former hinges as possible.

o This includes color, finish, size, and number…as well as, the length of the swing arc.

· The swing arm posts should be of 6” x 6” hollow metal columns that should accept the hinges and the weight of the gate panels.

o Filling this post with concrete is preferred.

· The controlling unit should match the previous unit in brand, functionality, and remote operation.

o It is highly preferred that the same remote devices that currently operate the Exit Gate be able to seamlessly operate this new gate.

o All electrical power, and sub-surface road sensors should be in place and fully functional.

§ It will be the responsibility of the bidder to determine this, and if any aspect is found to be dysfunctional, cost to re-establish such should be included in the bid.

· All work and coordination with the local power company is the responsibility of the bidder.

· Any cutting, boring, or general removal of the entrance asphalt must professionally repaired/replaced and sealed.

· Installation must not negatively affect the flow of traffic into the Park.

o Any need to delay or detour traffic must be communicated and coordinated in a timely manner with the Park Manager.

· All installation disturbance to the work area must be returned to its original state by the bidder.

· All construction/installation waste must be removed from the Park at the cost of the bidder.

· Installation/construction can only take place between ½ hour before sunrise and ½ hour after sunset. Beyond these hours, the Park is closed.

Process

The award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.
