Title: Anti-Gun Violence Initiative – Peer Support & Advocacy
Addenda: 0
Release Date: 3/10/2026
Due Date: 3/19/2026
Safe Futures St. Pete is a anti-gun violence initiative rooted in a public health, healing-centered, and survivor-driven approach. The program is designed to complement, not duplicate, services provided by the St. Petersburg Police Department (SPPD) and does not involve law enforcement, investigations, or enforcement activities.
Gun violence has lasting impacts on survivors, families, and entire neighborhoods. Safe Futures St. Pete addresses these impacts through peer-led support, advocacy, and community healing, recognizing lived experience as a powerful tool for recovery and prevention.
This initiative prioritizes:
• Trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices
• Survivor voice and leadership
• Community-based, non-enforcement approaches
• Strengthening pathways to healing, stability, and connection to resources.
