The project is located at 505 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Raleigh, NC 27601. The new Phase-2
construction of the Aquatic Center and Heritage Plaza adjacent to the existing Chavis
Community Center (to remain) will sit on approximately 5-acres of the 15.19-acre site. On-site
and off-site construction will consist of grading, storm drainage, utilities, site improvements,
paving, landscaping, and fencing. The new 38,693 sf, 1 ½ level Aquatic Center involves shallow
CIP Concrete Foundations and Structural Steel and Masonry structure. The building envelope
consists of Brick Veneer and Metal Panels over CMU Masonry or a Metal Stud backup wall and
a TPO or Green Roof. Typical interior construction assemblies include CMU Partitions, GWB
Partitions, Acoustical Ceilings, Casework, Painting, Flooring and Building Specialties.

The City of Raleigh prohibits discrimination in any manner against any person based on actual

funding. All bids shall satisfy requirements of NCGS 143-128.2.
Bid packages for this project will be advertised on the NC eVP system. However, only those
bidders that have been prequalified in advance by Barnhill-Holt JV for this project shall be
eligible to bid. Any bid submitted by a bidder that was not prequalified shall be rejected as being
nonresponsive.
