Description:

The Landfill Department is seeking qualified firms to provide maintenance and repair services for hydraulic trash compactors at our convenient centers.  The goal here is to reduce downtime to zero.

NOTE: A NON-MANDATORY PRE-BID CONFERENCE

For all prospective offerors is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. December 3, 2024 at the Support Services Department. Attendance at this conference is a prerequisite for consideration of an offeror's proposal.   Copies of the bid package will be available at the pre-bid conference and are available on the County’s website https://www.co.davidson.nc.us/ .

Prospective offerors are encouraged to submit written questions in advance. Address is listed above. The job site visits will happen the next business day 1/11/2024, after the pre-bid conference, starting at 8 a.m. In the event the County is closed due to inclement weather, this meeting will take place on the next business day.

It is the offeror's responsibility to assure that all addenda have been reviewed.

The Pre-bid Conference will never start at the jobsite.

Sealed Proposals subject to the conditions made a part hereof will be received until 2:00 p.m., on December 11, 2024 for furnishing services described herein.  In the event the County is closed due to inclement weather, this opening will take place on the next business day.

Qualifications:
All proposals must be made on the basis of, and either meet or exceed, the requirements contained herein. All offerors must be able to provide:

This work is for maintenance work to be done on Davidson County's trash/recycling compactors and bailers. There are eleven sites though out Davidson County where the compactors are located a map is included as well as list of compactor information. There are two bailers at the county Landfill itself which would be as needed by Landfill Manager and would need to be billed separate from Sanitation department. We have sites open seven days a week.

Special Requirements:
The Contract shall cover the period from 1/1/2025 to 6/30/2026 with four additional one-year periods, making this in effect, a five-year contract. This Contract may be renewed at the expiration of the initial term by mutual agreement. Regardless, this contract will expire on June 30, 2030 (6/30/2030
Miscellaneous:
All Contractors and subcontractors performing services for the County are required to and shall comply with all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), State and County Safety and Occupational Health Standards and any other applicable rules and regulations. Also, all Contractors and subcontractors shall be held responsible for the safety of their employees and any unsafe acts or conditions that may cause injury or damage to any persons or property within and around the work site area under this Contract. High Vis-shirts or vests must be worn while on County property.
