Description
The purpose of this work is to measure progress towards reducing plastic waste and pollution in Canada by all actors and across sectors, sources and leakage points.
the objectives are to:
- Develop a dynamic, science-based model and toolkit, along with a rigorous methodology and user materials, to quantify plastic pollution entering the environment from land and aquatic sources in Canada, disaggregated by year, jurisdiction, demographics, sources, product categories, and sectors;
- Estimate current and projected reductions in plastic waste and pollution based on existing and planned policy interventions and actions by governments, industry, and other stakeholders;
- Identify and quantify additional Canadian-relevant actions and policy interventions that could accelerate progress toward significant reductions in plastic waste and pollution;
- Conduct a socio-economic and competitive analysis of the plastics industry and markets in Canada, including gender-based plus analysis where applicable, to inform future decision-making.
The estimated contract period will be 12 month(s).
