Sealed bids will be received by the City of Eudora (City) for the 2026 Pavement Management Program – Chip Seal at the City Clerk’s Office at 4 East Seventh Street, Eudora, KS 66025 until the above time. Bids may be mailed or hand delivered. All bids that have been duly received will be publicly opened and read aloud at 2:05 p.m. on the above date, in the City Commission Room. All bids must be submitted on the furnished bid form and shall be sealed in envelopes and marked “2026 City of Eudora Pavement Management Program – Chip Seal”. Bidders shall file with their bid a bid bond by a company authorized to do business in the State of Kansas, in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of their bid. Such bid security shall be made payable to the City Clerk of Eudora, Kansas. No bid may be withdrawn within a period of thirty (30) days from the date of the bid opening.
The proposed work consists of approximately 59,307 SY of chip seal asphalt pavement surfacing and traffic control. All work to be in accordance with KDOT and project specifications. A performance and statutory bond will be required. The agreement will include a two-year warranty period for materials and workmanship. A sales tax exemption certificate will be furnished for materials incorporated into the project. Bid price should include other required taxes.
Work is to be completed within 60 calendar days. The Notice to Proceed will be issued when requested by Contractor, but not later than May 1st, 2026. There will be one payment at completion and acceptance of all work. Prior to beginning work, the contractor shall submit a certificate of insurance including Workers Compensation, Compensation General Liability, and comprehension Automobile Liability including bodily injury and property damage.
The bid package including contract documents, drawings and specifications, can be examined during normal business hours at the City Public Works office. The City reserves the right to award the contract to the lowest and best, responsive and responsible bidder for the work covered by the bid and to reject any and all bids and to waive irregularities and informalities in any bid submitted. The City may reject bids from bidders without adequate qualification, poor past experience or for inadequate references.
