Solicitation Summary

The work involves structural steel repairs to two of the steel joists, cleaning and painting of all of the steel joists and secondary members, and repairs/alterations to the mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and special systems components attached to or in the vicinity of the joists where the structural steel repairs and coating work will be performed in Building No. 9 at the Washington Boulevard Bus Facility. B. The work shall include all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to complete the task: Specific work is cleaning and coating all steel joists in the facility, and making several plating repairs to two of the steel joists. Work will be accomplished during the day while the building is operational (buses are washed at night) See Section 01 11 00, Part 1.11 “Joint Use of the Site by the Contractor and the MTA” and Section 01 18 13 “Interface Requirements” for further restrictions. C. The work shall also include all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to complete the tasks: Disconnection, removal, replacement, alterations for the mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and special systems components attached or in the vicinity of the joists repair and coating work. 1. Welded joist attachments, including but not limited to, gantry trolly “I” beam, piping and conduit support anchors, shall remain and shall be restored per joist restoration requirements. All bolted, clamped, clipped and banding attachments to supports shall be removed and replaced to meet Specifications. 2. All piping, conduit, wiring, and equipment supports shall be removed, shall have temporary supports installed to support piping, conduit, wiring and equipment to meet specified standards, shall have new permanent supports provided and installed upon completion of joists work per specifications.
