Description



The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Office of Acquisition Services, intends to award a sole source, firm-fixed-price purchase order to QuidelOrtho Corporation, 9975 Summer Ridge Road, San Diego, California 92121 under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i). The anticipated award is for reagents and is valued below the Simplified Acquisition Threshold (SAT). This procurement is for OEM support reagents for a VITROS 3600 systems used by the Division of Viral Hepatitis Laboratory Branch at CDC.





As a result, this requirement will be processed under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures of FAR Part 13. QuidelOrtho Corporation is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and the only known source with access to the proprietary reagents and diagnostics support for the proprietary(VITROS 3600) model equipment system in accordance with manufacturer specifications. This notice is not a request for competitive quotations. However, responsible sources that believe they can meet the Governments requirement may submit a capability statement demonstrating their ability to provide the required OEM reagents. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared with additional information included in this notice. The solicitation number is 75D30126Q78789 and is issued on a Request for Quote (RFQ) form as appropriate. The combined synopsis/solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2021-07. The associated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 325413 with a small business size standard of 1,250 employees. The CDC intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to QuidelOrtho Corporation. This is an open market posting with only one known qualified offeror. Responses must be received no later than the deadline listed above and must reference this RFQ notice, 75D30126Q78789. This contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested entities may identify their interest and capability with this requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within fifteen (15) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Any additional information received will normally be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
