NOTICE TO PUBLIC EMPLOYEES’ RETIREMENT SYSTEM BARGAINING UNITS and TEACHERS’ RETIREMENT SYSTEM

BARGAINING UNITS

Trustee seats on the Alaska Retirement Management Board (ARMB) representing the Public Employees’ Retirement System (PERS) and Teachers’ Retirement System (TRS) members will become

vacant on March 1, 2026.

NOMINATION PROCESS

Collective bargaining unit representatives for employees covered by PERS and TRS are invited to each submit a single list of four qualified nominees for consideration. From each list, one nominee will be appointed by the Governor.

DEADLINE

Nomination lists must be submitted to the Department of Revenue by 4:00 p.m. on Monday, December 8, 2025. The Department will forward the lists to the Office of the Governor within 30 days of receipt.

TRUSTEE INFORMATION

Role of the ARMB: Trustees serve as fiduciaries for the State of Alaska’s pension funds.

Duties and Terms: As outlined in AS 37.10.210, trustees serve a four-year term.

Qualifications: Nominees must either hold professional credentials or have at least ten (10) years of experience in one or more of the following fields: investment management, finance, banking, economics, accounting, pension administration, or actuarial analysis.

Nomination Requirements: Each nomination must include:

1. Full name, mailing address, email, and phone

number of each nominee

2. A resume supporting the nominee’s

qualifications

3. Proof that all relevant bargaining units had the

opportunity to participate in the nomination

process. Acceptable proof includes:

a. A signed declaration from certified

representatives

b. An affidavit describing the nomination process

c. Other reasonable documentation
