All dates and times are placeholders for now and will be updated when the official procurement documents are released.
The Metropolitan Transportation Commission is seeking a consultant to conduct a comprehensive evaluation to help determine the best methods of delivering service to paratransit eligible riders for trips that cross transit agency service areas. Currently, transit agencies in the Bay Area provide limited regional paratransit service where paratransit rides cross transit agency service area boundaries without a transfer between paratransit vehicles. MTC and transit agency partners are planning to implement up to five pilots beginning in 2025 that are anticipated to operate for one year and designed to test the performance of service that does not require a transfer between paratransit vehicles when crossing jurisdictional lines under varying operating conditions. The consultant will evaluate existing regional paratransit service and the pilot projects and provide a toolkit for regional paratransit service implementation strategies under varying operating conditions. The consultant must complete all work by June 30, 2027.
