South Tank Pipe Relining Project

The City of Prescott is solicitating bids for a contractor to reline 2, 24” inlet and outlet pipes along with 2, 8” drain lines with an NSF 61 approved liner for potable water.

The City of Prescott is requesting bids for the trenchless rehabilitation and lining of piping located beneath the existing 5-million-gallon South Tank Reservoir. The reservoir was constructed of cast-in-place concrete in the early 1990s.

Leakage from the reservoir prompted the City to undertake a two-phase rehabilitation process. The first phase consisted of preparing, abrasive blasting, and coating the interior shell of the reservoir, including all columns and capitals, with a 100% solids epoxy coating. While this work successfully sealed the interior surfaces of the tank, it did not resolve the source of the leakage.

The second phase of the project will address the piping beneath the reservoir. The work will include exposing two 24-inch inlet and outlet pipes located outside the tank within an existing concrete vault structure. Both pipes will be rehabilitated from the vault to approximately the centerline of the reservoir interior using a cast-in-place pipe (CIPP) liner. Additionally, the project will include exposing two 8-inch drainpipes located outside the tank within an earthen area and rehabilitating both pipes using CIPP lining.

The contract duration is 120 calendar days. The reservoir must be returned to service no later than March 1, 2027.
