NOTICE TO BIDDERS
Bensalem Township will be accepting bids from qualified Electrical and Mechanical contractors for the following project:

RENOVATIONS TO THE BENSALEM TOWNSHIP COUNTRY CLUB MANSION

The project is an interior renovation of a late 1800s house on the grounds of the Bensalem           Country Club located at 2000 Brown Ave in Bensalem, PA. The existing building is (3) stories           and 5,000 SF. The existing construction is load-bearing stone masonry walls with wood framed             partitions and floors. The building is currently vacant.

The project is for the construction and renovations to the Country Club Mansion at 2000 Brown Avenue in Bensalem Township, Bucks County, PA.

RESPONSIBLE CONTRACTOR  REQUIREMENTS
In accordance with Ordinance #2007-08, as a condition of performing work on a public works contract, all prime contractors, and including all sub-contractors, who seek award of a contract, shall submit a Contractor Responsibility Certification along with your bid proposal.

IN ORDER FOR A CONTRACTOR TO BE AWARDED THE BID, THEY MUST NOT ONLY HAVE SUBMITTED THE LOWEST RESPONSIBLE BID BUT MUST ALSO MEET THE APPRENTICE REQUIREMENTS OF THE RESPONSIBLE CONTRACTOR ORDINANCE.

Responsible Contractor Certification Forms will be provided with the bid specifications.

Plans for this project will be available for review at the Township Building, 2400 Byberry Road, Bensalem, PA 19020, in the office of Building and Planning during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.  These plans are provided to assist in determining a prospective contractor’s level of interest.  Contact William Cmorey at wcmorey@bensalempa.gov should you have any questions regarding this project.

It is recommended that interested contractors schedule a pre-bid walk through with the architect.  Bids must be submitted no later than 3:00 p.m. on January 20, 2025 on the forms provided in the bid documents along with the completed Responsible Contractor forms and supporting documents.  A Bid Bond in the amount of 10% is required. Bids will be opened at 4:00 p.m. on January 20, 2025.  No electronic bids will be accepted.

THIS PROJECT IS BEING PAID FOR, IN PART, WITH FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROVIDED BY THE COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA REDEVELOPMENT ASSISTANCE CAPITAL PROGRAM GRANT (RACP GRANT).  RACP STATE GUIDELINES WILL BE INCLUDED IN THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS.  PREVAILING WAGES ESTABLISHED UNDER THE PENNSYLVANIA PREVAILING WAGE ACT WILL APPLY TO THIS CONTRACT.  THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS CONTAIN REQUIREMENTS ADDRESSING PREVAILING LABOR WAGE RATES AND REPORTING REQUIREMENTS.  PERFORMANCE AND PAYMENT BONDS IN THE AMOUNT OF 100 % OF T HE CONTRACT AMOUNT ARE REQUIRED.
