Calgary Economic Development Ltd.
Calgary Economic Development (CED) is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to develop a Protocol for Indigenous Engagement in the Film and Television Industry in Southern Alberta, with a specific focus on Treaty 7 Nations and the Urban Inuit community in Calgary. This initiative aims to establish formal engagement guidelines that foster meaningful partnerships, cultural respect, and increased Indigenous participation in the creative sector. The project aligns with broader efforts to promote reconciliation and ensure Indigenous communities have equitable opportunities within Alberta’s film and television industry.
The selected vendor will be responsible for conducting extensive community consultations to understand barriers, identify best practices, and incorporate Indigenous knowledge and perspectives into the protocol. The scope of work includes the development of a formal engagement framework, a comprehensive implementation strategy, and industry training materials to support the adoption of these guidelines. The vendor will also create a stakeholder engagement report, capturing feedback from production houses, broadcasters, and policymakers to ensure industry-wide commitment to Indigenous inclusion.
Successful proposals must include a detailed methodology, team expertise, a proposed timeline, and a pricing structure. Vendors are encouraged to reference Sections 12 (Scope of Work), 13 (Deliverables), and 17 (Proposal Evaluation Criteria) of the RFP for detailed requirements.
