Invitation
Note: Extended Deadline
Compensation Consulting ServicesThe Town of Vail (“Town”) is accepting proposals from qualified consulting firms (“Firm”) to provide comprehensive compensation consulting services. Services include a classification analysis, compensation study, and recommendations to ensure market competitiveness, internal equity, and effective recruitment and retention.
Firms must demonstrate experience with public sector compensation, including agencies that provide emergency services. The selected Firm will evaluate the Town’s step and progression-based compensation programs for Public Safety Departments, including Police, Fire, and Emergency Communications. The Town’s current pay plan was last updated in 2024. Since that time, labor market conditions, recruitment challenges, and retention trends have continued to evolve. The Town conducts regular reviews of its compensation structure and is seeking innovative, forward-thinking approaches to maintain and enhance competitiveness.
In 2026, the Town adopted a revised Vision statement: “Your favorite mountain town.” The selected Firm will assess the alignment of the Town’s Total Compensation Philosophy with its mission, vision, and organizational values, and provide recommendations to ensure the philosophy supports and reinforces these guiding principles.
Scope of Services: The selected Firm will provide a comprehensive review and analysis of the Town’s compensation program.
