Overview
Summary

The City of New Haven is seeking a qualified contractor to convert the presently one-way traffic-flow Chapel Street between College Street and York Street into a two-way street according to prepared design plans and specifications attached herein. This project segment of one-way to two-way conversion along Chapel Street is "Phase I" of a larger Chapel Street conversion project, which will be completed under future phases.

This conversion initiative under Phase I involves several key modifications, including but not limited to a new mast arm, a new pedestrian pedestal, new signal heads, upgrading pedestrian equipment including APS push buttons, implementation of concurrent and Leading Pedestrian Interval (LPI) pedestrian phasing, signal timing adjustments, new signage, and pavement marking restriping. The design of ADA sidewalk ramps is excluded for all intersections under this scope of work.
