The Town of Wayland, acting through its Town Manager, hereby invites sealed bids from qualified vendors to supply all labor and materials needed for the Claypit Fire Alarm Device Replacement Project at the Claypit Hill Elementary School, 40 Adams Lane, Wayland, MA 01778. The scope of work includes but is not limited to the supply and installation of one to one device spot replacement of existing conventional initiating devices and notification devices throughout the building.
All bids and the awarding of any contract are subject to the provisions of M.G.L. Ch. 30, § 39M, et seq. Wages are subject to minimum wage rates determined by the Massachusetts Department of Labor and Industries pursuant to M.G.L. Ch. 149, §§ 26 to 27H.
The rule for award will be based upon the responsible respondent offering the needed quality of service, based upon the criteria set forth in the attached Invitation for Bids (IFB), at the lowest price quotation, as may be in the best interest of the Town. At the time of award, the successful bidder will be required to provide a Certificate of Insurance demonstrating current coverage of the type and amounts set forth in the contract.
Each bid must be accompanied by a bid deposit in the form of cash, bid bond issued by a surety company licensed by the State Division of Insurance, or a certified, treasurer's or cashier's check, payable to the Town of Wayland, issued by a responsible bank or trust company licensed to do business in the State of Massachusetts, in the amount of 5% of the total bid.
The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Labor and Materials Payment Bond in the amount of 50% of the contract total with a surety company satisfactory to the Town. Such bond shall be prepared on forms provided by the Owner and supplied by a surety company licensed to do business in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
