    Notes:

This is a single source posting notification; there are no documents available for download. This is not a Request for Bid (RFB) or Request for Proposal (RFP). The Minnesota Department of Education (MDE), through its Farm to School and Early Care Program intends to proceed with awarding a single source contract to Osprey Wilds Environmental Learning Center to host Minnesota Statewide Farm to Kids Conference. This two-day event will bring together educators, food service professionals, farmers, early care providers, and community partners to advance farm to school and early care efforts across Minnesota.

Osprey Wilds has a variety of environmental education classes that are proprietary to their organization and are only presented by their staff. Selected classes for our event would include: Ojibwe Hike, Pollinators, Sustainable Foods, Maple Syruping and Orienteering. These classes are appropriate for our audience and would provide professional development training that attendees could bring back to their school or professional space to further their Farm to Kids initiatives.

Osprey Wilds has their own on-site farm which they grow produce for their catering program. They also partner with additional local farmers to source items they do not grow or produce. They prepare all meals on-site and utilize scratch-cooking methods whenever possible.

This event location has been deemed a single source because of their central location in the state, the educational classes that meet the needs of our Farm to School initiative and was similar in cost to past events that were held at other locations.

If there are any concerns with this posting, please contact Tiffany Plumley at tiffany.plumley@state.mn.us before February 11, 2026 @ 10:00am. Please include the number and title of the posting.
