Project Overview
Project Title: Generator Docking Station Installation
Location: East Airfield Lighting Vault
Purpose: Install a new generator docking station to allow temporary/emergency generator connection to
the East Lighting Vault. The docking station will connect to the existing standby power system ahead of
the Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS). The current diesel generator does not have temporary power
connection capability.
Scope of Services
The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, and supervision necessary to
complete the work in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
A. Generator Docking Station Installation
* Provide and install one (1) 1600A pad-mounted generator docking station with cam-lock
connections.
* Construct a new concrete pad including forming, pouring, finishing, and curing.
* Provide all labeling and identification in accordance with applicable codes.
B. Concrete Cutting and Underground Conduit Installation
* Sawcut the existing concrete floor/slab as needed for conduit routing.
* Excavate and install new conduits beneath the slab.
* Backfill and restore slab to original conditions, including patching and finish matching.
C. Conduit Routing and Terminations
* Install conduits from the docking station to required electrical connection points.
* Stub-up conduits to a new pull box to serve the ATS.
* Stub-up conduits into the existing generator wireway for integration.
* Provide all required fittings, supports, sealing, and accessories.
D. Electrical System Integration
* Connect the docking station to the existing Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS).
* Coordinate integration with the existing generator system and electrical infrastructure.
* Ensure all grounding and bonding are installed in accordance with code and manufacturer
requirements.
E. Equipment Relocation
* Relocate existing panel 'GEN' as needed to accommodate new installation.
* Provide new supports, conduit extensions, conductors, and reconnections as required.
F. Lighting Upgrades
* Replace existing lamps in the lighting vault with LED lamps (re-lamp only; no fixture replacement
unless otherwise specified).
G. Testing and Commissioning
* Perform operational testing of all installed systems.
* Verify functionality of generator docking capability (using portable generator if provided or
available).
* Provide final commissioning documentation, test results, and as-built revisions.
