| Description: |
Our vision for this site is a lively and engaging mixed-use center of activity that incorporates a diverse range of uses, such as entertainment, housing, employment, hospitality, social activities, recreation, restaurants, and retail with the fore front being an Athletic Fieldhouse. It emphasizes urban design principles that prioritize enjoyable, active, and human-scale spaces, seamlessly blending indoor and outdoor areas and providing flexible and programmable outdoor spaces. It reinforces our core belief that this Fieldhouse and the surrounding area is for everyone, and embraces best practices in inclusivity and sustainability.
Successful redevelopment of the site will further enhance Fort Wayne’s reputation as a top Midwestern downtown, create a must-visit destination, and establish a standard of excellence for the type of world-class development we envision and expect throughout our Downtown area. Through this Request for Qualifications (“RFQ”), the Fort Wayne Department of Redevelopment (“FWDR”) is seeking a purpose-driven Master Developer that recognizes the importance of social connectedness, human scale, and the art of placemaking. They should have a proven track record in complex mixed-use, urban infill projects, showcasing their ability to navigate intricate challenges, work in partnership with local governments, and deliver exceptional results. They must also have the vision to design the site in concert with planned public space improvements and the ability to attract the type of active uses that will transform the North River area from an industrial area to one of the most vibrant parts of the city. |
