Summary

This is a Notice for a Single Source Source designation for Alachua County Board of County Commissioners.

Commodity or Service Required:

The Guardian emergency 911 telephone system, Guardian Messenger (text-to/from-911), Managed Services, Cybersecurity services, the Guardian Map system, and any additional Guardian system components, modules, upgrades, or enhancements.

Justification for Single Source Acquisition:

All Guardian products operate as an integrated suite, any additions or modifications must be procured and supported through AK Associates to ensure full compatibility, system integrity, and continuity of operations within the Communications Center.

The Solacom emergency telephone system was originally acquired under RFP 18-802 through AK Associates in partnership with the manufacturer. The Guardian Map system is the only known mapping solution fully compatible with and capable of being embedded within the existing Guardian Call Handling system, as both are produced by the same manufacturer (Allerium, formerly Solacom/Comtech).

Previous attempts to implement third-party solutions were unsuccessful due to system incompatibility and operational challenges. Per the existing support agreement, all Guardian system components, upgrades, and services must be procured through AK Associates, the sole authorized provider for purchasing and direct support with the manufacturer.

Recommended Procurement Approach:

For the reason stated above, Alachua County Procurement Division intends to utilize the Single Source Procurement method to contract with Kraus Associates dba AK ASSOCIATES for supplying the above.
