Summary of Work:
The Department of Water Management (DWM) constructed a new facility located at 1600 Mist Lake
Drive, Durham, NC, that includes offices, training facilities, storage, crew spaces and repair shops.
Acoustical reverberation studies have been completed to determine a recommended approach to best
reduce sound reverberation within the spaces listed.
The following documents are included in the list of Scope of Work documents, as well as plans
showing the proposed layout of each product being evaluated for pricing as listed below:
• Armstrong product data for Tectum Finale panels (walls and ceiling)
• Cross Connection Compliance (CCC) Lab 3005 layout plan
• Water & Sewer Maintenance (WSM) Meter Services Shop 3020 layout plan
• Plant Engineering & Maintenance (PEM) Conference 5028 layout plan Δ
• Utility Engineering (UE) Conference 1059 layout plan Δ
Δ PEM Conference 5028 and UE Conference 1059 are not included in the study reports

General Notes – Applies to all work locations
1.) Work to be performed during normal business hours (7am-4:30pm Monday through Friday).
Working space(s) will be vacated for the contractors used during designated time for installation
preparation, execution and completion.
2.) Contractor to provide all material, equipment, tools, lifts, PPE and cleaning supplies required to
layout, install and cleanup work.
a. Lifts and/or rolling scaffolding can be accommodated with an exterior door into WSM
Meter Services Room 3020.
b. Ladder feet are not required to be equipped with booties in any locations.
3.) Materials can be delivered on a pallet to WSM Meter Services Shop 3020, which is equipped
with an exterior roll-up door, but palletized materials will need to be broken down and moved by
a rubber wheeled cart or carried to all other locations due to doors that are not wide enough to
accommodate pallet jacks.
4.) All contractor employees should wear clothing that includes a printed company logo or some
other means of identification. Employees are expected to provide all required Personal Protective
Equipment (PPE).
5.) Contractor to provide all required protection for flooring, plumbing wet lab benches, existing
furniture & equipment within the space during the work. Final cleanup should include removal
of all dust, debris and temporary protection materials.
6.) Any equipment used to field cut materials should be effective at capturing dust due to
cementitious and glass fiber content of specified materials. A shop vac may be provided if
equipped with the appropriate filter(s) for the Tectum products.
7.) Any painting required on concealed end(s) of panels and/or furring will be completed by the
Owner.
Base Scope of Work
1.) Cross Connection Compliance (CCC) Lab 3005
a. Provide all materials and labor required to install Armstrong Tectum Finale ceiling and
wall mounted panels as shown on the attached sketch for Mounting Type A (direct
attachment), including maintaining code required clearances around sprinkler heads as
noted on drawing.
b. Existing ceiling construction is 5/8” GWB over metal studs with recessed lights and
concealed sprinkler heads – refer to provided existing conditions construction details and
photos taken during construction for further details.
c. Existing wall construction is 5/8” GWB over 3-5/8” metal studs (A012) – refer to
provided existing conditions construction details and photos taken during construction for
further details.
d. Powered lifts cannot be accommodated in CCC Lab 3005. Rolling scaffolding must have
