The City of Monticello Parks, Arts & Recreation Department is inviting proposals from qualified contractors for a project focused on converting turf to dry prairie and implementing direct hardwood seeding in Monticello, MN. This initiative involves transforming five designated sites, including CSAH 75, Groveland stormwater, and Balboul, into dry prairie ecosystems. Interested parties should carefully review the project details outlined below to prepare their proposals. Notably, the Groveland Park site will specifically involve direct hardwood seeding. Additional materials, including project location maps, seed specifications, and a bidder's proposal sheet, are provided in the Exhibits. Qualifications:
|
|
The contractor will be required to meet the insurance specifications as needed for the project and as required by law. It shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to supply all necessary tools, supplies and equipment to perform the work as requested.
|

Special Requirements:
|
Contractor Responsibilities:
• The Contractor shall provide a written plan to the Park Superintendent outlining the intended method of weed control, including herbicide type and application schedule, prior to any treatment.
• The Contractor shall scout the site regularly (minimum once monthly during the growing season) to assess weed conditions and determine if additional treatment is necessary.
Compliance and Recommendations:
• All herbicide applications shall comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
• The Contractor shall consult with a certified forester for herbicide selection and site-specific recommendations.
