Overview: The Iowa DOT is looking for qualified vendors to provide lawn mowing/maintenance services for Right of Way (ROW) properties in the specific district listed within this solicitation no more than two (2) times per month with at least twelve (12) days between mowings.  Mowing season shall be between April 15 to November 15. Lawn mowing services will be needed for the lawns at each property address listed on the Line items tab and as defined by the specification and map documents (Approximately 292,581 square foot total).

Property addresses are included in the Line items tab.

Contract Award

Award will be based on the amount of bid price shown on the Line items tab within the solicitation. Bid price will include all requirements listed in the Description of the proposal to complete this proposed project. All items (parcels) within a group are tied and must be bid to be considered for a group award.

It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible bidder whose submitted quotation is the most advantageous to the Iowa DOT, cost and other factors considered. Other factors include, but are not limited to: meeting or exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing, and meeting required time schedule.

Deliveries shall be F.O.B Destination.

Contract Period

The successful bidder will be awarded a one (1) year contract with an option to renew for five (5) additional years in twelve (12) month increments. Renewals are not a guarantee and must be mutually agreed upon between the contractor and the Iowa DOT.

Adding or Removing Properties

The Iowa DOT reserves the right to add or delete properties as listed on the line items at any time. The DOT will notify the successful bidder of property changes as soon as the information is available.

Site Visit

It is recommended that prospective bidders visit the sites prior to submitting a quotation for this work. No considerations or revision in the contract price or scope of the project will be considered by the Owner for any item which could have been revealed by a thorough on-site inspection and examination.
