DATA, VOICE, & VIDEO CABLING SERVICES

The City of Charlottesville is seeking sealed bids from qualified contractors for a citywide term contract to provide cabling services for voice, data, and video. The desired services include, at a minimum, turnkey installation for cable systems (to include racks, patch panels, etc.), problem determination and resolution. Services may also be required for consultation for cable system installation. Services shall be provided on an “as needed” basis; therefore, no specific amount of work is guaranteed to the contractor as a result of a contract award.

The City of Charlottesville (City) owns and/or manages numerous local City government facilities. Many of these structures and systems will, at some time, require improvements and/or additions of varying degree of complexity. In addition, the City is planning for the construction of additional facilities. The City must ensure that all required changes and additions are inclusive of any data/voice/video cabling.

Currently, the City’s technology is based on the following equipment:

• Network equipment comprised of Cisco routers and switches
• Telecommunications through Cisco VoIP
• Fiber connection for remote location
• Category 5E and 6 cabling
• Panduit products used for structured cabling, such as patch panels, cabinets, racks, jacks and cable management
