Overview
Summary

Pierce County (hereafter known as 'the County') Facilities Management Security Division requires a security service contractor to provide security services to numerous locations throughout Pierce County beginning April 2025.

Background

The Security Division of the Pierce County Department of Facilities Management provides physical security programs and systems designed to reduce vulnerabilities and mitigate physical security risks. The Security Division will manage the contract for the county and provide oversight of the contractor’s performance.

The County has a large number of buildings, courthouses, parks, and public works facilities throughout the county that require contractor provided security. This covers a range of services and capabilities.

  • Screening and access control similar to TSA (Transportation Security Administration), at the largest courthouse in the state.
  • Security Operation Center (SOC) providing 24/7 operations.
  • Mobile patrol covering numerous facilities and locations.
  • On site security guards both armed and unarmed.
  • On-demand special event security coverage.

The service area varies but can extend from the Narrows Airport to near Lake Tapps and from Frontier Park to facilities near Purdy.
