The project involves work on two separate playgrounds at the Fiske School referred to as the Upper and Lower Playground Areas. The Lower Playground area is proposed to remove and replace the existing playground, including engineered wood fiber and pip walkways. The Upper Playground Areas consist of removing EWF, pip walkways, and swing set. Most of the playground Equipment will remain with some modifications to the existing equipment. Both Upper and Lower Playgrounds will include a timber edging and wall in some locations as shown on the plans. The property is owned by the Town of Wellesley and is under the jurisdiction of the School Department. The project design is by the Department of Public Works in conjunction with the DPW Park and Tree Division. Project oversight will be by the Town of Wellesley DPW Park & Tree Division.
