Building Active Bystanders: Training Program for Gender-Based Violence Prevention
Synopsis:
Community Safety and Well-Being is inviting Proponents to provide Submissions outlining their ability to develop and disseminate a bystander intervention model training program throughout Saskatchewan to interrupt gender-based violence. Community Safety and Well-Being branch is seeking one (1) supplier OR a collaboration of suppliers to develop and deliver the initiative across the province.
A bystander intervention model is an approach to preventing harmful behaviours, such as bullying, harassment, or violence, by encouraging and empowering individuals (bystanders) to take action when they witness these behaviours. Bystanders—those who are not directly involved in a situation but who observe it—can play a crucial role and be potential leaders in preventing harm by intervening in various ways. Instead of staying silent or passive, bystanders are encouraged to act in ways that disrupt or address harmful behaviours.
The Successful Proponent(s) will develop a comprehensive training program, coordinate making the training accessible, and evaluate the effectiveness of the training program. The program will be developed in a way that it can be adapted to different cultures and environments to reduce and prevent gender-based violence in Saskatchewan.
