Title: Rehabilitation of Mel Harmon Drive Bridge
Addenda: 2
Release Date: 4/29/2025
Due Date: 5/29/2025
The proposed Mel Harmon Drive Bridge Rehabilitation project includes resurfacing, installing new waterproof membrane on the bridge deck, addressing settlement issues, removing and replacing noncompliant bridge railing, modifying approach rails by stiffening transition rails to meet current standards, removing and replacing damaged sidewalk, removing and replacing damaged curb and gutter, and removing vegetation that is or could damage the structure.
Mel Harmon Drive Bridge is an ageing structure that is functionally obsolete. The bridge services as a local link in a major commercial area that spans another local road and a single set of mainline Union Pacific railroad tracks. As a local link, the bridge provides significant access to the city’s northern commerce. This project was awarded a grant from the Off-System Bridge Rehabilitation Program from CDOT.
