91066-Roofing, Gutters, And Downspouts Maintenance And Repair;
The Texas Historical Commission seeks a general contractor firmwith documented experience in projects similar in type, scale, and scope tothose described in this RFP. Contractors must possess a minimum of eight yearsof experience in construction comparable to the work required by these ContractDocuments (as judged by THC) to be eligible for contract award. THC requiresall work to comply with applicable federal and state laws, codes, andstandards.
The Eisenhower Birthplace Home is a two-story craftsman houselocated at the Eisenhower Birthplace State Historic Site and was built in 1877.The structure is of wood frame construction and features three prominent roofgables on the front façade. The dining room and kitchen are topped by asingle-story roof at the back of the house. The scope of work includes removingand disposing of the existing wood roof shingles and replacing them with newwood roof shingles. Associated sheet metal flashing will also be replaced withnew material. More information regarding the project scope and details isfurther detailed in the project specifications and construction documentsExhibit M-Construction Documents.
Refer to the project specifications and construction documentsincluded in Exhibit M-Construction Drawings. This solicitation will require thesubmission of company experience and qualifications focusing on similar-sizedprojects and their pricing. Respondents will be evaluated as outlined inParagraph 3.10 Scoring Criteria.
A Mandatory Site Visit is required to familiarize yourself withthe site conditions and characteristics. Respondents must return the ExhibitN-Site Visit Form, signed by both the respondent and the site representative,to confirm attendance at the Mandatory On-Site Visit. The site address isEisenhower Birthplace, 609 South Lamar Avenue, Grayson County, Texas 75021. Toreach a representative at the site or for location information, you can contactsite manager John Akers at john.akers@thc.texas.gov or 903-465-8908, or project manager Dan Valenzuela at dan.valenzuela@thc.texas.gov or 512-463-7947. The site visit date range isJune 13, 2025 – June 30, 2025. The site's hours of operation are Tuesday toSaturday from 9 am to 5 pm, and Sunday from 12 pm to 5 pm. The site is closedevery Monday.
Bonds: Proposals exceeding $25,000.00 must be accompanied by aproposal security in the form of an original bid bond, certified check, orcashier's check made out to the Texas Historical Commission for no less thanfive percent (5%) of the total amount of the proposal (including the total ofall alternate proposal items). Accordingly, to ensure adequate proposalsecurity, respondents should calculate it based on the highest possiblemonetary award. Personal checks, company checks, and cash are not acceptable asproposal security. Proposals will be rejected if proposal security is notprovided in the specified form and by the deadline for receipt of proposals.
All inquiries must be submitted in writing to responses@thc.texas.gov , within thedate listed as the deadline for submission of questions detailed in Section3.1. All written inquiries will generate written responses posted to the ESBD,available at https://www.txsmartbuy.gov/esbd .
Proposals must be submitted electronically via email toresponses@thc.texas.gov by the deadline specified in the Schedule of Eventsabove. The official date and time for electronically submitted proposals willbe determined based on receipt in the THC email system.
