RECEIPT OF BIDS

Separate sealed bids for construction of the above referenced project will be received by the Owner at their office, on Thursday, September 25, 2025, no later than 2:00 PM local time at North Charleston Procurement Department, located at North Charleston City Hall, 2500 City

Hall Lane, 3rd Floor, North Charleston, SC 29406 then at said office to be publicly opened and read aloud.
QUESTIONS
Questions are due in writing to Willie Atienza, Director of Procurement, watienza@northcharleston.org no later than Monday September 15, 2025 by 4:00 PM local time.
SCOPE OF WORK

The work includes sidewalk improvements within City Council District 2 in the City of North Charleston. Construction of Package 2B includes the following:

• 1,435 LF of new sidewalk and 282 LF of new storm drainage located on Mazyck Road

• 5,180 LF of new sidewalk located on Peppercorn Lane

• 1,790 LF of new sidewalk and 1,652 LF of new storm drainage located on Kenwood

Drive
BONDING REQUIREMENTS

Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond made payable to the Owner, for an amount equal to not less than five percent (5%) of the total Bid as a guarantee that, if the Bid is accepted, the required Agreement will be executed and that a one hundred percent (100%) Performance Bond

and a one hundred percent (100%) Payment Bond will be furnished. Checks, regardless of form, will not be accepted.
LICENSES

A. The attention of Bidders is directed to the provisions of the acts for licensing of General Contractors for the State of South Carolina and all requirements of such acts which have been bearing upon this work shall be deemed a part of the Specifications as if written therein full.

The showing by the Contractor of their license number shall be deemed as the Contractor’s

representation that they are legally qualified to enter into the prescribed Contract for any/all

portions of the work included in their Bid.
B. All Bidders submitting a Bid shall have a currently valid “Contractors License” for the State of

South Carolina. These license numbers shall be shown on the bid form immediately below the

signature identification and on the face of the sealed envelope containing the submitted Bid.
C. Subcontractors who will be engaged by the General Contractor shall also hold the required

licenses.
