Description
By means of the RFP, Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) is seeking proposals from bidders for….
The objective of the project is to study the current prefabricated panel and prefabricated insulated cladding system market for retrofits in Canada in four distinct areas:
1. Current availability of prefabricated panels and prefabricated insulated cladding systems manufactured in Canada specifically designed for use in enclosure retrofits.
2. Key business characteristics and capabilities for manufacturers offering these retrofit products.
3. Key market factors influencing the use of these products and barriers affecting uptake and growth.
4. Key technological and market differences between Canada and more countries more advanced in this sector.
The study must clearly identify and evaluate prefabricated panel and prefabricated insulated cladding system manufacturers across all Canadian climate zones that offer current solutions for the retrofit market, as well as those that have the intent/interest and capability of doing so.
Manufacturers must be Canadian-owned or have a manufacturing facility located within Canada. The products offered must be suitable for at least one of the following building archetypes: single family homes, multifamily buildings (≥ two housing units), offices, commercial, recreational, and institutional. Industrial buildings and relocatable buildings are out of scope for this study.
This study is limited to the following product categories designed for specific use in enclosure retrofits:
i. Pre-assembled insulated panel systems
ii. Pre-engineered insulated panel systems
iii. Prefabricated insulated cladding systems
(Refer to definitions in Annex A – Statement of Work, SW.6.2)
