Separate sealed Bids for the Temporary Repairs to the Mine Street Smokestack, Calumet, Township, Michigan
for the Quincy Mine Hoist Association per documents prepared by U.P. Engineers & Architects, Inc. will be
received by Quincy Mine Hoist Association, at the office of the Quincy Mine Hoist Association, 49750 U.S.
41, Hancock, Michigan 49930, until 2:00 PM, (Eastern Time) September 22, 2026, and then at said office
publicly opened and read aloud.
Bids shall be sealed and shall have the name and address of the Bidder and clearly marked as "Temporary
Repairs to the Mine Street Smoke Stack", for which the bid is being submitted on the outside of the envelope.
All Bidders shall bid in accordance with the Bid Forms included in the Contract Documents.
The Contract Documents may be examined at the following location(s): Office of U.P. Engineers & Architects,
Inc. at 100 Portage Street, Houghton, Michigan 49931, and at the following Builders' Exchanges: Marquette,
Iron Mountain, McGraw-Hill Dodge Reports, and Construction Association of Michigan. Please note the
Builders' Exchanges are authorized to share the contract documents with other exchanges. Please also
note that UPEA and Owner are not responsible for the completeness of contract documents and other
information shared or transmitted from another builder's exchange.
There will NO Mandatory pre-bid project walk-thru held at the project site.
Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Issuing Office during the hours indicated above. Printed Bidding
Documents may be obtained from the Issuing Office upon payment of a $50.00 non-refundable deposit for each
set of contract documents, payable to "U.P. Engineers & Architects". Alternatively, bidding documents are
available as portable document format (PDF) files for a non-refundable charge of $25.00. Neither Owner nor
Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda if any, obtained
from sources other than the Issuing Office.
BID SECURITY - No Bid shall be received unless accompanied by a certified check or satisfactory Bid Bond
payable to the Owner in an amount no less than five percent (5%) of the maximum bid as a guarantee, that if
the Bid is accepted, the Bidder will execute and file the Contract, Performance and Payment Bonds, and
Insurance Certification, as required by the Contract Documents within ten (10) days after the Notice of Award.
Bid and Bid Security may not be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days after the bid deadline.
The Owner reserves the right to waive any informality or to reject any or all bids.
