Title: Next Ride Mobile Application-Native Application
Addenda: 7
Release Date: 6/23/2025
Due Date: 8/4/2025
RTD is seeking a qualified contractor to design and develop a custom mobile application for RTD’s public-facing trip planning website Next Ride (app.rtd-denver.com) for both iOS and Android devices. The new mobile application will integrate multiple existing RTD mobile applications into one single user interface to improve the customer experience and implement best practices. This new application should be downloadable from app stores and onto mobile devices. Support and maintenance shall be provided for 1 year after deployment. This project will directly support RTD's Customers and Community Connection and Welcoming Transit Environment Strategic Initiatives.
RTD customers currently use five separate applications to access RTD services. Next Ride to plan trips and view schedules, MyRide for mobile ticketing, Transit Watch to report safety concerns, QRyde for Access-a-Ride, and Demand Trans for FlexRide. Multiple applications create confusion for customers and provide a less-than-ideal user experience. To improve the customer experience, this project will commence by combining the functionalities of Next Ride, MyRide and the Transit Watch apps. Feedback will be solicited from RTD Directors, employees, and customer stakeholders as part of the app creation process. Following user and accessibility testing anticipated for late 2025, the newly created app is expected to be available in Q1 of 2026 for download from app stores (i.e., Apple Store and Google Play). In 2026, subsequent efforts will launch to integrate QRyde and Demand Trans, RTD’s two remaining apps, into the newly created single app.
