CONTRACT NO. 2017-092

CITY OF GREENSBORO, NC

Sealed proposals will be received until 2:00 p.m. local time, on Thursday, March 19, 2026 by the City of

Greensboro, NC in the Engineering Conference Room (#313) located on the 3rd floor of the City of Greensboro’s

Melvin Municipal Office Building for the above listed contract as shown in the plans and described in the Special

Conditions. The Melvin Municipal Office building is located at 300 West Washington Street, Greensboro, NC 27401.

The Bid Opening will also be available via Zoom.

Bidders may submit questions regarding the intent of the contract documents in writing to Ms. Kristen Kollgaard via

email: EngBids@greensboro-nc.gov or fax: (336) 373-2338. Sealed proposals may be mailed or delivered to her

attention at the City of Greensboro Engineering and Inspections Department at the Melvin Municipal Office Building.

This contract includes approximately 7,425 Square Yards (SY) of 4” Sidewalk, 2,600 SY of 6” Concrete Driveway,

53 Concrete Curb Ramps, 1,885 Linear Feet (LF) of various size Curb & Gutter, Fire Hydrants Relocation,

Traffic/Pedestrian Signaling and a variety of other items and materials including erosion control, traffic control,

pavement repair, pavement markings, and other work necessary to complete the contract. All materials and

workmanship shall be in accordance with all referenced plans and specifications herein.

Electronic copies of the Plans and Specifications may be obtained at no charge by emailing EngBids@greensboro-

nc.gov with your request for electronic copies. All bidders must obtain Bid Documents by registering with the City’s

Engineering & Inspections Department. If desired, hard copy Plans and Specifications may be purchased from the

City of Greensboro for a nonrefundable fee of $150.00 per set payable by check to “The City of Greensboro”.

contractor’s shipping account.

All contractors submitting bids (Prime, Sub and DBE) for this contract are required to be pre-qualified and listed in

the NCDOT’s “Directory of Transportation Firms” on the following website:

No proposal shall be considered or accepted by the City unless at the time of its filing the same shall be accompanied

by a five percent bid security as indicated in the Instructions to Bidders.

A separate performance and payment bond each in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price

will be required of the Successful Bidder following award of the Contract by the City.

A Pre-Bid meeting will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 5, 2026 in the Melvin Municipal Office Building 3rd

Floor Engineering Conference Room (#313) located at 300 West Washington Street, Greensboro, NC 27401. The Pre-

Bid Meeting will also be made available via Zoom. All plan holders and other interested parties will be emailed the

Zoom meeting link along with the Meeting ID and any applicable password prior to the Pre-Bid meeting. City of

Greensboro personnel will discuss DBE requirements and the ENGINEER will be available to discuss the Contract

and answer pertinent questions. Attendance is strongly encouraged.

The City reserves the right to waive any informality or to reject any or all bids or to award such contract as in its

judgment is deemed to be in the best interest of the City.
