VALDEZ DCFC DEVELOPMENT
Introduction:
The Alaska Energy Authority (AEA) is seeking information from qualified vendors interested in developing,
installing, owning, operating, and/or maintaining publicly accessible direct current fast charging (DCFC)
electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure in Valdez, Alaska.
This RFI is issued for information gathering and planning purposes and is intended to assist AEA in evaluating
market interest, available project delivery approaches, and industry capabilities related to a potential EV
charging project.
Background Information:
AEA is exploring opportunities to expand public electric vehicle charging infrastructure in Alaska. As part of
this effort, AEA is seeking information from firms that develop, install, own, operate, or maintain EV
charging infrastructure regarding a potential DC fast charging site in Valdez.
Valdez is an important transportation, tourism, and commercial destination within Alaska's road system.
AEA is interested in understanding private-sector interest in supporting charging infrastructure that serves
residents, visitors, and travelers.
AEA is evaluating the potential development of one or more publicly accessible DC fast charging stations in
Valdez. Project scope, ownership structure, funding approach, site location, charging capacity, and
operating model have not been determined. Through this RFI, AEA is seeking information regarding
available products and services, ownership and operating models, site and utility requirements, and factors
that may affect project feasibility, cost, schedule, reliability, and long-term operation. Information received
through this RFI may be used to support future project planning and procurement activities.
Response Information:
Firms that believe they can provide products or services relevant to this project are invited to submit a written
response. Responses should be limited to three pages or less and include:
* Company name, address, and primary contact.
* Relevant experience with DC fast charging infrastructure.
* Experience completing similar projects in Alaska or other cold-climate or remote locations.

* Description of products and services offered and their applicability to a potential publicly accessible
project in Valdez.
* Preferred ownership, operating, or project approach.
* Technical capabilities, including charging equipment, payment systems, communications systems,
and network services.
* Factors that could affect project cost, schedule, reliability, or long-term operation.
* Minimum site or project requirements necessary for participation.
* Recommendations for future project development or solicitations and any information needed to
evaluate interest in a potential project.
Responses should explain why the respondent's experience, products, or services would be a good fit for the
project and identify any considerations specific to deployment in Alaska.
This RFI does not extend any rights to respondents nor obligate AEA or the State of Alaska to conduct a future
solicitation, award a contract, purchase any goods or services, or reimburse respondents for any costs
incurred in preparing a response.

Notice to Vendors:
Pursuant to Administrative Order 352, (a) any person or business determined to support or participate in a
boycott of the State of Israel will be disqualified from any procurement related to this Request for
Information; and (b) the support of or participation in a boycott of the State of Israel by a person or
business contracting with the State of Alaska under AS 36.30 constitutes grounds for termination of the
contract.
Administrative Order 352 does not apply to a contract if the person or business has fewer than 10
employees; or the amount to be paid under the contract, excluding renewals and options available under
the contract, is less than $100,000.
