Repairs to floor drains at Stonelick State Park

Needed Service or Supply: Replacement of floor drains and traps in 10 bathrooms in the park.
Ordering Location and Address: Stonelick State Park 2895 Lake Dr. Pleasant Plain, OH 45162
Project Background: Stonelick State Park had the floors refinished in 2024 and the contractor let epoxy run into the floor drains, filling the traps and clogging the pipes. We believe that the piping going to the drains is cast iron.
Specifications/Scope of Work Contractor is to cut and demolish concrete in accordance with proper safety procedures in a 2-foot by 2-foot square. Dig down to trap. Remove floor drain and trap and check the condition of the pipe to ensure that the remainder of pipe is clear, structurally sound, and clog free. Contractor is to replace the trap and floor drain with like size and in accordance with proper plumbing practices and codes. Contractor is to pour concrete to restore the floor to its previous height ensuring that the correct slope is attained to drain the floor and not create a hazard to the public. Contractor is to attain all permits and inspections that will be required to complete the project. Work is to be done during the normal business hours of the campground, M-F 8am-5pm. Contractor is responsible for demo, haul-away, and site cleanup. Owners reserve the right to inspect workmanship and approve or disapprove of contractors’ practices or materials.

Once a contract is awarded, failure of the bidder to have requested a site visit to become familiar with the facility and requirements of the bid will be insufficient reason to support any request to be released from the contract.
Project Award
For bids involving service projects on DNR property, the lowest apparent bidder will be required to provide 2 examples of similar completed projects including photos.  Provide the person’s name,   organization name, phone number and email address for each project example.  In addition, the bidder must complete a pre-award meeting with appropriate DNR staff to ensure that the materials and scope are mutually understood
Evaluation. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder as determined by the State.
Contract Award. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder by low lot total.  Low lot total will be determined by multiplying the unit cost by the estimated usage listed in the bid and then adding each of the totals together to arrive at a total for all items. Failure to bid all items may result in the bidder being deemed not responsive.
