Summary
The Ohio Department of Commerce, Division of the State Fire Marshall is soliciting bids for:
Scope of Work – 10‑Day Solicitation Project: Elevator Emergency Communication Upgrade Location: DSFM Facility Purpose: Replace obsolete POTS-based elevator emergency phone systems with a fully functional cellular‑based 2‑way voice communication system for both elevators. 1. Project Background DSFM operates two elevators: Both currently rely on POTS lines for emergency 2‑way voice communication as required by state law. POTS services are being phased out by 2030 and have already proven unreliable following recent outages. DSFM has existing and reliable Verizon-based cellular coverage via in‑building repeaters, and the facility successfully uses cellular dialers for other critical building systems. To maintain code compliance and continuous emergency communication capability, DSFM must replace POTS lines with cellular-based emergency communication hardware. 2. Contractor Requirements The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, programming, subscriptions, testing, and commissioning required to furnish and install cellular emergency communication systems in both elevator cabs. 3.
