La Plata Maintenance Shop Tar Remediation Project, Charles County (District 5)
The project includes the remediation of contaminated soils by means of removal and replacement of the existing soils located on two residential properties adjacent to the La Plata Maintenance Shop. The impacted properties include 122 Dulles St. and 124 Dulles St., La Plata MD 20646. The lots will be accessed from the La Plata Maintenance Shop. The existing fence will be temporarily removed to perform the remediation. The construction will include excavation of the existing contaminated soils, replacement of the soils with select borrow, and surface grading of the excavation limits to return the ground to existing drainage patterns. The site will be permanently stabilized utilizing turfgrass sod.
