Project Description: The Maryland Environmental Service (MES; the Service) is distributing this Request for Information (RFI) to obtain industry input regarding a 650 Window Infrastructure Evaluation and the evaluation of approximately 614 existing windows within the MES headquarters building. The Service is seeking technical methodologies, performance metrics, lifecycle cost information, and cost optimization strategies from qualified commercial glazing contractors, building envelope specialists, manufacturers, authorized installers, and other experienced firms. The information obtained through this RFI will help MES compare potential capital asset strategies, including full replacement, comprehensive rehabilitation, complete reglazing, and selective improvement, to determine the most cost-effective long-term approach for improving building envelope performance, occupant comfort, energy efficiency, operational continuity, sustainability, and asset reliability. Responses to this RFI will not result in a contract with the Service.
