DOE is establishing a program for making surplus plutonium materials available to industry for advanced nuclear technologies. Applicants from commercial companies with detailed recycling and processing plans, including funding commitments and schedule to utilize the surplus plutonium materials within DOE’s inventories for nuclear fuel for reactors in the United States will be accepted.
