The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) intends to negotiate a one-time, sole source, firm fixed price contract with Astrophysics, Inc. 21481 Ferrero Parkway, City of Industry, CA 91789 for the purpose of repairs and maintenance on FBI-owned X-Ray inspection systems. The X-Ray inspection systems are comprised of assemblies, subassemblies, and parts that are designed, developed and propriety to Astrophysics. Astrophysics is the sole manufacturer of the referenced equipment and is the only vendor capable of providing proper support for the referenced equipment to ensure optimal performance throughout the life of the product. Only
Astrophysics is authorized to perform repairs, maintenance, and service on the XIS line of X-Ray inspection systems. The Government intends to negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.103-1.
This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, interested parties may identify their interests and/or capabilities statement to this requirement by contacting (Contracting Officer Ricardo Tiggle via email only at rtiggle@fbi.gov, no later than 9:00am on 6/18/2026. Responses sent via other means (i.e. via telephone call, facsimile transmission, etc.) will not be considered. Information received will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is at the discretion of the Government.
