RFP 2026-0500-0017 Technical Advisory Committee

The Department of Education and Early Development (DEED), Division of Finance and Support Services, is soliciting proposals for a vendor to organize, facilitate, and provide technical support as a Technical Advisory Committee (TAC). The TAC is an interstate team of experts in the areas of assessment and accountability that work with DEED staff to ensure that Alaska is administering a valid and reliable assessment as well as a meaningful accountability system for schools and districts. The TAC will advise DEED staff on a variety of issues surrounding the statewide summative assessment, the alternative summative assessment, the statewide assessment for English learners and the alternate assessment for English learners, and Alaska’s literacy screener.

Alaska requires a Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) to provide information and guidance regarding technical issues with assessments and school accountability. Alaska utilizes four national assessment and accountability experts, two experts from Alaska, one State Board of Education representative, and is facilitated by a vendor with expertise with TACs across the country as well as issues and challenges associated with assessments and accountability.
