Description
DENISON STATION SERVICE SCOPING LIST AND ASSUMPTIONS
SUMMARY SCOPE OF WORK
-
The Denison Powerhouse is located on the Red River, five miles north of Denison, Texas. The project contains two 35,000 kilowatt (kW) units with a total rated generating capacity of 70,000 kW. The rated (overload) generation capacity is 80,500 kW. The powerhouse produces an estimated average annual energy amount of 219,000 kilowatt-hours. Unit 1 became operational in 1945 and Unit 2 became operational in 1949.
-
The powerhouse has two original station service units which provide power for auxiliary equipment to operate the main units. There is no emergency generator, as the two station service units act as backup power sources for each other. The station service units have incurred over 70 years of wear, including normal cavitation damage to the turbine runners and wicker gates. Due to their deteriorated condition, the station service units are losing reliability.
-
The Army Corps of Engineers is seeking sources to conduct rehabilitation and/or replacement of a wide range of components, as articulated below, associated with these Station Service units. The following systems will require any combination of inspection, repair, and/or replacement. Testing and commissioning plans will also be required.
