DRI - Great Basin Environmental Research Laboratory (GBERL) EcoCell Control System Upgrade

Once the ITB/RFP/RFQ/CMAR closes and the responses are unsealed electronically, the list of bidders/responders will be posted online shortly thereafter and available to the public for viewing. Description of Work: This is a prevailing wage project. To update the controls system of the EcoCell equipment located in the GBERL Building on the DRI Reno campus. Includes testing, adjusting, and balancing of HVAC system, as well as any demolition or new installations required as stated in the project specifications.

Special Considerations: Contractors must account for the EcoCell greenhouse’s dependence on the GBERL building’s central utilities by ensuring seamless integration between the new controls and existing supply infrastructure. Consequently, all staging, access routes, and system shutdowns must be meticulously coordinated to prevent any disruption to the main facility’s operations or shared mechanical loops.

Special Licenses/Qualifications: B idders must be currently designated as distributors or installers of Distech Controls equipment to be eligible for award. Bids submitted without verifiable documentation of this specific manufacturer certification will be rejected as non-responsive.

Estimated Cost Range: $450,000 to $550,000

Liquidated Damages: $500/day

Completion of Work: Subject to change by Owner, Work is scheduled to begin on "March 9, 2026" and shall be fully complete by "July 3, 2026."
