The Army Contracting Command-Detroit Arsenal (ACC-DTA) awarded an Undefinitized Contract Action (UCA) for one-time Requirements Contract for the procurement of the TAILLIGHT ASSEMBLYW to be used the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected All-Terrain Vehicle (M-ATV) Family of vehicles. This UCA award was issued on a sole source basis to BAE Systems Information & Electronics, Inc., Title 10 United States Code (U.S.C.), Section 3204(a)(1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, “Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements”. Specifically, FAR 6.302-1(a)(2) states, "When the supplies or services required by the agency are available from only one responsible source, or, for DoD, NASA, and the Coast Guard, from only one or a limited number of responsible sources, and no other type of supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements, full and open competition need not be provided for”.
This UCA focuses on the first delivery order which has a Not-To-Exceed (NTE) value of $5,174,428.42 and authorizes the contractor to begin production of 654 each (EA) TAILLIGHT ASSEMBLYW. Award under these undefinitized terms and conditions will enable warfighters the ability to have a wider range of view to maneuver the vehicle in reverse and allows the driver to quickly reverse the vehicle and move the vehicle to safety if an explosion or obstacle prevents forward motion The First Ordering Period CLIN was established as part of this UCA and shall be modified to establish pricing at time of final definitization.
