| Project Details | The New York State Office of General Services (OGS) Design & Construction (D&C) group intends to contract with one (1) architectural firm specializing in historic restoration/rehabilitation projects. Projects to include historic restoration and rehabilitation projects and may range from a variety of historic state buildings (NYS Capitol, Empire State Plaza, etc…), offices buildings, armories to various state-owned institutional facilities-many of which are National Historic Landmarks, listed or eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places. The majority of projects will involve the rehabilitation of existing facilities. Qualified firms will possess strong design skills, extensive knowledge of architectural history, a keen understanding of historic building construction and fluency in building conservation and restoration principles. The firm must have experience with public sector restoration projects, experience with the New York State Historic Preservation Act Section 14.09 consultation process and possess excellent research and writing skills. The firm must have resources to provide field investigations, testing, code analysis, and subsequent document preparation. Work orders will be assigned on an individual basis. Other tasks may also include site/civil/utility engineering, structural engineering, fire protection/fire alarm engineering, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and sustainability. | ||
