Scope

This project provides for the rehabilitation of Brighton Dam Road Bridge No. M-0229, relocation of the crosswalk and associated walkway connection at entrance of WSSC visitor center, and two additional streetlighting at the crosswalk. The most noteworthy elements of construction of this project are: repair of bridge concrete spalling and cracking, replacement of all bridge deck compression joints, new drainage troughs on selected buttress, replacement of damaged street lights
and pole supports, improvement of existing stormwater inlets, repaving/resurfacing of roadway approaches, repair of approach sidewalk, relocation of the crosswalk and associated walkway connection, and two additional street lights at the crosswalk. The work to be done for this project will consist of, but not be limited to the following:

1. Implementation of sediment and erosion controls as detailed on the plans.
2. Implementation of traffic control plans and MOT.
3. Repair of bridge concrete spalling and cracking.
4. Replacement of all bridge deck compression joints.
5. New drainage troughs and downspout on selected buttress as shown on the plans.
6. Replacement of damaged streetlights and pole supports, and two additional street lights at the crosswalk, power pedestals for Montgomery County and Howard County respectively, trenching and      installation of conduits as shown on the plans.
7. Improvement of existing stormwater inlets.
8. Repaving/resurfacing of roadway approaches, repair of approach sidewalk.
9. Relocation of the crosswalk and associated walkway connection at entrance of WSSC visitor center.
10. Installation of pavement markings and signage.
