The Douglasville ¿ Douglas County Water and Sewer Authority (the ¿Authority¿) is soliciting competitive sealed bids from qualified contractors for the performance of the Bear Creek Water Treatment Plant High Service Pumps 5 & 6 Replacement Project (the ¿Project¿), as more fully described in the Invitation for Bids. The scope of work includes the provision by the bidder or contractor of all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, and supplies necessary to complete the work. The Project will be ¿turn key¿ and require minimal involvement of Authority personnel.
The Authority currently has two (2) Flowserve vertical turbine high service pumps powered by 2,500 hp US Motors installed at the Bear Creek Water Treatment Plant for pumping finished water. These pumps have been in service for approximately twenty-five (25) years and are in need of repair/replacement and re-bowling to a higher flow rate. The Authority has purchased two (2) new Flowserve vertical turbine pumps and one (1) new 2,500 hp motor, and has one (1) rebuilt 2,500 hp motor. The work to be performed shall include removing the existing motors and pumps and installing the new and rebuilt motors and pumps. Special Conditions and Appendices contain more detailed information on the Project scope.
All work will be performed on Authority property and no easements or rights-of-way are necessary for this work. All anticipated federal, state, and local permits required for the Project have been obtained.
Parties interested in this Invitation for Bids must obtain a copy of the full bid package or their bids will be considered nonresponsive. Bid packages must be obtained for the nominal cost of $25.00 by contacting the Authority¿s Purchasing Department, Joseph Morency
